Summers means sunburn, tanning and rashes. Tanning
is common problem during summers where skin color darkens and is seen on the
arms mostly. Not using a sunscreen with adequate SPF may leads to not only
tanning but sun damage as well. Below, are some home remedies to take care of
the tanning and reduce it.
Cucumber juice: Cucumber is well known for its
skin brightening properties. Applying fresh cucumber juice on the area which is
tanned, you will see a difference in the skin tone and tanning will be gone.
Aloe Vera: Aloe Vera is known for its calming and
soothing properties but it also takes care of the tanning on your skin. Rubbing
fresh Aloe Vera gel/extract on the affected area and reduces tan and soothes
the skin. You may leave it for 15 minutes and then wash.
Milk: Milk is very efficient in getting rid of tan
when mixed with a pinch of turmeric. Take some milk and as required mix it will
1-2 pinches of turmeric and then massage on the tanned part of the body, leave
it for about 20 minutes and rinse with plain water. With frequent uses you will
see it not only reduces the darkness but it also makes the skin softer.
Curd/ Yoghurt: Yoghurt just like the milk is equally
effective. Regularly using yoghurt with some lime juice will help reducing and lightening the tanned skin. In fact this can also be a great mask for
brightening the skin.
Papaya and lime juice: Papaya and lime juice can
greatly help too. Put the papaya in the mixer until a pulpy gooey sought of
consistency is achieved. Mix it with few drops of lime juice and like a pack
apply on your skin or the body part that has tanned. Massage it a bit and then
you can leave it for 15-20 minutes. Rinse with plain water.
These remedies are sure shot and easy ways to get
rid or reduce the summer tanning on your body and face. They cost nothing like
the fancy skincare products. You can find them in the kitchen and yet they
prove to be beneficial.
