Today, we are going to talk about
cleansing with natural cleansers. Cleansing
is known as the first and crucial step in the skin care routine and for that there are tons of products available
in the market. Facial cleansers range from foaming, cream, milks, clarifying
lotions etc to suit your different needs.
We might be aware that they all have
chemicals in them even the ones that claim to be all natural or herbal. You
will still find some emulsifiers, preservatives in them. Most of them contain
SLS (Sodium Laureth sulphate) that is even present in the washing bars and detergents which can strip away
the natural oils that your skin needs and also could be harsh on the skin as
well. Then why to use them?
This was the question I asked myself long
ago while I was reading the label of a face wash that I bought. I did some researching
and trust me there was something that urged me to skip these fancy looking cleansers
full of claims like baby soft, gentle,
herbal, all natural etc.
I realized when I don’t use many products
on my face; my skin just behaves well and looks good.
So, why not try something that is more organic, pure, and is devoid of these
chemicals.
What about using some kitchen stuff
that can prove to be natural and yet gives great results. Since, I like
exploring the potential and magic of kitchen stuff for beauty. I tried certain
cleansers that not only are natural and
organic but gentle and efficient on my skin.
Here we go:
Honey: Honey
is one such product that can help your skin and hair in several ways. It is
antibacterial and has a great capacity of retaining moisture. It never ever
causes any side effects or allergies and is very gentle on the skin, regardless
of the skin type whether you have oily, combination, acne prone, dry or mature
skin. Due to which it can be a great cleanser.
To use it as a cleanser, all you have
to do is to take less than a teaspoonful of honey in your palm and rub it so
that it gets warm and can be spread easily. Then message your face gently with
it for a minute and rinse, pat dry.
Make sure you should not have any waterproof makeup on if you are using
this cleanser. Remove your makeup and then use it. Else you can do it in the
morning.
Milk: Unboiled/raw
milk can be used as a deep pore cleanser
when mixed with a pinch of salt. Take two teaspoonful of honey and mix it
with a pinch of salt and gentle massage your face with this.
It is great for dry, normal or mature
skin, if you have oily skin then try putting few drops of lime juice in it and when there is curdling, use it as
a cleanser.
Yoghurt: Just
like milk yoghurt is an excellent
cleanser. Lactic acid present in it gently exfoliates and nourishes the
skin. It can be a great cleanser for all skin types. Take yogurt in desired
amount, I take a teaspoonful only and that is more than enough. I massage it
all over my face and then rinse off.. Clean and refreshed face, there you go!
Baking soda: Baking
soda also known as Sodium bicarbonate,
can be used as a cleanser and a mild exfoliant especially for the oily acne prone or combination skin types.
Mix some baking soda with water to get a paste like consistency and rub it all
over the face.
Make sure to do this gently, very
gently as you don’t want to over
exfoliate your skin.
Rinse with plain water and pat dry.
Tomatoes:
Tomatoes contains the enzyme lycopene
that helps lightening the marks and
blemishes and also gently exfoliates. So, next time you are chopping off a
tomato, consider giving yourself a cleaning session by rubbing a slice on your
pretty face and then rinsing it off or you may let it sit on the face for 10 minutes,
if you wish and aren’t in hurry.
So, do try and consider these all natural face cleansers and be gentle
with your face. Your skin will love it!
