Overactive
Sebaceous glands makes skin oily. Oily skin asks for a lot more care and
attention as compared with other skin types as it tends to get skin problems
like acne, blemishes, comedones like whiteheads and blackheads which are
directly or indirectly related to over secretion of oils by those glands.
Skin
oil is not bad at all as it is produced in order to keep the skin hydrated and protects
its outer layer but the problem arises when that oil gets trapped in the pores
and pores gets blocked followed by bacterial infection that can cause the skin
problems.
It
becomes very important to keep oily skin clean. There are a lot of products available
in the market from foaming face wash to face packs that can help cleaning oily
skin.
You
can easily make oil absorbing Clay pack for oily skin very easily at home, without spending
much. I am taking about a sandalwood and Fuller’s earth face pack.
For
that either you can take a sandalwood and make a paste out of it by rubbing it
on a stone used specially for that purpose or if you don’t have one, You can
buy sandalwood powder and some Fuller’s earth which is also known as Multani Mitti commonly here.
You
have to make a paste out of the two in either Rose water or just plain water in
the ration that sandal wood should be a bit less than the clay.
Mix
it will and apply directly on the face. Wait for it to get completely dry which
will take 10-15 minutes. Rinse your face with plain water and pat dry.
Fuller’s
earth is very easily available and is cheap too. It absorbs all the oil from
the skin and cleans the pores as well but when over absorption of oil happens
then our skin tends to produce more oil to combat the loss, for that sandalwood
is used that hydrates the skin and also makes sure that the clay should not dry
out the skin and should not suck even the essential amount of oil present on
the skin.
Sandalwood
also soothes and calms the irritated and acne prone skin, an added bonus of
this wonderful product.
